In this documentary filmmakers Frances Reid and Deborah Hoffmann follow four cases - those of Amy Biehl, the Craddock 4, Robert McBride and the Guguletu 7 - which came before the South African Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Set up to examine human rights violations committed between 1960 and 1994, the TRC allowed victims of the apartheid system, its perpetrators and the nation of South Africa to begin the process of healing.
