This Discovery Channel program compares two innovative design projects in Britain. The Millenium Footbridge, a pedestrian-only steel suspension walkway across the Thames River in London, suffered significant lateral vibration problems when it opened in 2 000. The Falkirk Wheel, a rotating boat lift in Scotland, links two waterways by easily lifting boats 35 meters into the air, based on Archimedes’ principle - the law of bouyancy.
