Cafe owner Rene Artois tries to keep his wife, his mistresses, the French Resistance and the German Army safely satisfied in this British comedy series set in occupied France during World War II. Prior Engagements - Michelle plots to steal the painting and rescue the airmen from the chateau; the German steal the painting back from her and the airmen get stuck in the sewer. 70. Soup and Sausage - René sneaks food to the trapped airmen, Monsiuer Alphonse uses an ice cream truck to cover his efforts to pry open the sewer grate, and Von Klinkerhoffen asks for a treat from the truck. 71. René of the Gypsies - A gypsy carnival in the town sqaure is the cover for yet another plot to free the airmen from the sewer.
