Cafe owner Rene Artois tries to keep his wife, his mistresses, the French Resistance and the German Army safely satisfied in this British comedy series set in occupied France during World War II. Each episode approximately 28 minutes. On this disc: 1. The British Are Coming - introduces René, his wife with a spectacularly bad singing voice, bumbling German officers Captain Geering and Colonel Von Strohm who frequent his cafe and the two escaped British airmen installed at the cafe by the Fre nch Resistance. 2. The Fallen Madonna - René, the Colonel and the Captain plot to keep a stolen painting from the Gestapo. 3. Pigeon Post - in an attempt to smuggle the British Airmen out of the country the German officers uniforms are stolen and burned. 4. Saville Row to the Rescue - thinking they will get their uniforms back the Colonel and the Captain accompany René at night when he hopes to blow up a railway and put the airmen on a plane for England.
