This PBS 4-part series surveys demographic, social, cultural and economic changes in California since the 1970s. This program chronicles thirty years of city politics in Los Angeles, from the 1973 election which brought African American Tom Bradley into the mayors office, to the 2005 election of Antonio Villaraigosa as L.A.s first Latino mayor in over 130 years. Political and physical battles over race, labor and immigration are investigated.
