The Southern Paiute people of what is now California, Nevada, Utah and Arizona sang sacred salt songs at memorial ceremonies to assist transition into the next world. This video records a healing ceremony held for former students at the Sherman Indian Hi gh School, once an Indian boarding school where children who had been taken from their families by force were forbidden to practice their traditional culture. Participants explain the importance of the Salt Song Trail in their lives. Filmmake Esther Figu eroa; narrator Lalovi Miller.
