This series charts 50 years in the life of a group of Ju/’hoansi ( Bushmen ) in the northern Kalahari Desert, as recorded by John Marshall. In "Standing Tall" Marshall visits in 1989 with the newly formed Ju/’hoan Farmers’ Co-op as the independent nation of Namibia is born and United Nations troops help Ju/’hoansi return to traditional homelands. Finally in "Death by Myth" Marshall shows that while Namibian independence brought in vast amounts of international aid, the Ju/’hoan farmers receive little help.
