When the Quabbin Reservoir was created in the Swift River Valley of eastern Massachusetts in 1939, four small towns were gradually submerged. In this presentation University of Massachusetts biology professor Ed Klekowski, former Swift River Valley resid ents and scuba divers show viewers how these communities appeared a century ago - and, through an underwater survey, how they appear today as part of a freshwater marine environment.
