Filmmaker Ulrike Koch follows a nomadic Tibetan community which has for centuries traveled in yak caravans to gather salt from holy lakes in northern Tibet, to trade it for barley. Rituals of the 90 day trip across the Himalayas, including picking an aus picious departure day, singing, storytelling, preparing burnt offerings and speaking in their own secret language, are noted.
