In this film two apprectices, Abraham and Ivan, flee the religious and political conflicts that divide Poland in the 1930s. Joined by Abraham’s sister Rachel and her young Communist boyfriend, they try to hide in the countryside from the chaos that will soon engulf all of Europe.
