This NOVA program profiles a deadly killer hiding out on college campuses across the United States - the meningococcus bacteria. The common bacteria can transform into meningoccal meningitis, a rapidly spreading disease that frequently causes death. Warn ing signs of the illness, how outbreaks can be controlled, why Britain requires vaccinations for students and the United States does not, and what can be done to control this form of meningitis are reviewed.
