Huell Howser explores California Gold - sites and people of interest throughout the state - in this KCET Public Television series. During World War II the Kaiser Shipyards in Richmond, California built 747 ships, working round the clock, 365 days a year. a model of efficiency from which the Kaiser Permanente medical organization grew. Men and women who worked at Kaiser during those years talk about their experiences in this video. Plans to transform a Victory class built at Kaiser into a floating museum are also profiled.
