Huell Howser explores California Gold - sites and people of interest throughout the state - in this KCET Public Television series. During the 1930s thousands of people fled the Dust Bowl for the green fields of California. This program stops at the site of the "Weedpatch Camp", a federal migrant work camp in Kern County which John Steinbeck wrote of in "Grapes of Wrath". Howser visits both with " Okies " who came during the Great Depression and with Latinos who live in the Arvi n Farm Labor Center today. Closed captioned.
