In the 1970s geology student Qasim Jan discovered that the Nanga Parbhat mountain in northern Pakistan was young in geologic terms - only one to two million years old. Other geologists have established that rain, glaciers and the Indus River are eroding this steep sloped Himalayan mountain at a spectacular rate. This video reviews scientific studies of the spectacular peak showing that erosion actually helps the mountain grow. Produced and directed by Doug Prose and Diane La Macchia; narrated by Susan-J ane Harrison.
