In this miniseries a modern British family endures the difficulties of domestic life in Britain during World War II, as a nine week experiment. First the Hymers family moves into 17 Braemar Gardens, puts up blackout curtains, digs an Anderson air raid sh elter and scrimps along with food rationing. Then the Hymers women try to entertain a 1940s food expert while working outside the home - and suffering with cigarette rationing. Letterboxed. Closed captioned.
