Before the Civil War, African-Americans escaping from slavery in the South to freedom in the North traveled along routes known as the "Underground Railroad". This NASA program tells stories of those escaping slaves and shows how they used mathem atics, astronomy, celestial navigation and geography to find freedom. Produced and directed by David Knight.
