| Pamela Wolfberg, Ph.D. is associate professor of special education and director of the Autism Spectrum program (Project Mosaic) at San Francisco State University. She received her doctorate from the University of California, Berkeley with SFSU in 1994. Her research and practice center on peer relations, play and childhood culture as related to the social inclusion of children on the autism spectrum. As originator of the Integrated Play Groups model and founder of the Autism Institute on Peer Relations and Play, she leads widespread efforts to develop inclusive peer play programs worldwide. She has published extensively in peer reviewed journals and books and is the author of Play and Imagination in Children with Autism and Peer Play and the Autism Spectrum: The Art of Guiding Children’s Socialization and Imagination and co-editor of Learners on the Autism Spectrum: Preparing Highly Qualified Educators. She serves as associate editor for Autism: International Journal of Research and Practice, conceptual reviewer for the National Autism Center-Autism Standards Project and on the advisory board of the Autism Professional Standards Project and ASD Guidelines for Effective Interventions. She has an active agenda as an invited speaker at the local, national and international level and is the recipient of several distinguished awards for her scholarship, research and service to the community. Kristen Bottema, MA (Ph.D. student) is a student in the joint doctoral program in Special Education at the University of California, Berkeley with San Francisco State University. She has worked extensively with children and adults on the autism spectrum in classroom and community settings. Her research interests are in play intervention for children with autism spectrum disorders, inclusive education, and social-communication development. She is the author of Peer Play and the Exceptional Child, which was published in the Winter, 2007 issue of Exceptional Family Magazine, a premier Canadian publication for families of children with exceptional needs. |

| Jaejin (JJ) Lee, MA began her career in special education in South Korea in 1988, volunteering in a residential home and a school for the blind. She came to the United States in 1998 to pursue an education in special education and specifically the field of Autism. She received her Masters in Special Education from San Francisco State University. She is the co-founder of Wings Learning Center, a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her role has evolved from being a classroom teacher to a program specialist. Her responsibilities include directing and developing educational programs and curriculum, training and supervision of staff and overseeing all educational functions of Wings Learning Center. |
