Kristen Bottema, MA (Ph.D. student) is in the joint doctoral program in Special Education at the University of California, Berkeley with San Francisco State University. She has worked extensively with children and adults on the autism spectrum in classroom and community settings. Her research interests are in peer social and play interventions for children and teens with autism spectrum disorders, inclusive education, and social-communication development. She is the author of Peer Play and the Exceptional Child, which was published in the Winter, 2007 issue of Exceptional Family Magazine, a premier Canadian publication for families of children with exceptional needs. |
| Jaejin (JJ) Lee, MA began her career in special education in South Korea in 1988, volunteering in a residential home and a school for the blind. She came to the United States in 1998 to pursue an education in special education and specifically the field of Autism. She received her Masters in Special Education from San Francisco State University. She is the co-founder of Wings Learning Center, a school for children with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Her role has evolved from being a classroom teacher to a program specialist. Her responsibilities include directing and developing educational programs and curriculum, training and supervision of staff and overseeing all educational functions of Wings Learning Center. |
