Program Overview The San Francisco State University/Cañada College Partnership was established in 2001 as a new model to provide four-year college degree programs, workplace certifications and graduate-level programs that are accessible and convenient for area residents. To administer this partnership, a University Center was established on the Cañada College campus, which is located in Redwood City. The SFSU/Cañada College Partnership enables more students to receive an affordable college education and remain close to their community, eliminating the barriers that discourage many from pursuing an education. Programs offered through the Partnership improve access to four-year and graduate programs for all Peninsula and south bay residents. The faculty and administrators of the University Center at Cañada College and San Francisco State University have created the necessary infrastructure to provide students access to four-year degrees on the Cañada College campus. Through this Partnership, students in selected departments will be able to complete their four-year degrees mostly or entirely on the Cañada College campus. Two SFSU departments are currently offering classes and/or full BA/BS degree programs at Cañada College: |

Available to SFSU Students only: Every semester, students will be notified of the date and time when the OneCard photo equipment will be available on the Cañada campus. Each student will need to provide another form of photo identification to validate his/her ID. As an alternative, once students are in the SFSU student database, they may go to the SFSU One Stop Student Services Center and have their student Photo IDs taken at the OneCard office (Student Services Building, Room 103). Each student must provide another form of photo identification to validate his/her ID. The SFSU student ID card allows the student access to on-site services at the J. Paul Leonard Library on the SFSU campus, including borrowing library materials and using computer labs. (See #12 for more information on library access.) Cards are issued to all currently enrolled students with no charge for the initial card. The replacement fee for lost or stolen cards is $2.00, and the students must come to the SFSU campus for the replacement. For more information, see the OneCard Website at http://fiscaff.sfsu.edu/Onecard/, or call (415) 338-3619, or send an e-mail to onecard@sfsu.edu. |

The SFSU ID card (see SFSU ID Cards above) is needed to borrow books and access some other services on-site at SFSU’s J. Paul Leonard Library. For further information, visit the SFSU Library Website at www.library.sfsu.edu/general/general.html. Students do not need an SFSU ID card to access electronic SFSU Library resources such as databases, e-journals, and e-books. In addition to the student’s ID number (which is not usually the Social Security number), the student must set up a Library personal identification number (PIN) and make a change to their Internet browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer). For further information and to establish a PIN, go to the Web at www.library.sfsu.edu and click on "Library PIN/Patron Record." See http://opac.sfsu.edu/viewinfo.html and http://www.library.sfsu.edu/eresource/proxyinfo.html for more information. The SFSU ID card does not currently allow access to the Cañada College Library; (see library access, Cañada Campus) |
