Social Work & Gerontology Alumni Group

Established on June 24, 2009, Social Work & Gerontology Alumni Group is currently led by Ms. Miriam Levine-Alcala (MSW '78).

The purpose and mission of the Social Work & Gerontology Alumni Group are to:

  • increase communication between the University and alumni;
  • develop a career networking and mentoring system that increases involvement between alumni and students;
  • support the University’s advancement activities, campaigns and other fundraising drives;
  • help extend the University physically, intellectually and socially, beyond the boundaries of the campus;
  • keep the University informed about alumni and activities;
  • recommend qualified alumni for our Distinguished Alumni Awards program and other volunteer leadership roles in the University.

Social Work & Gerontology Alumni Group goals are to:

  • Establish a permanent link between the SSW/Gerontology and the SF/Bay Area communities that have been served by our alumni.;
  • Facilitate a healthy university community partnership, allowing our graduates to bring daily issues pertinent to our educational process to the university and to increase communication between the University and alumni.
