Personalized Medicine 6.0:Next Generation Sequencing for Targeted Therapeutics
The advent of low-cost sequencing of the human genome will revolutionize our understanding of health and disease. This year, our conference focuses on the amazing technological challenges and advances of “next-generation sequencing,” examining the very latest approaches and how they are leading to profound changes in our understanding of basic biological questions and more efficacious and cost effective therapies.

SF State Seattle Alumni aboard the Golden Bear forCaptain's Reception
Ahoy Gators! Join the SF State Alumni Association on the Cal Maritime’s 500-foot training ship Golden Bear as it sails into Seattle. This first of its kind facility, focused on testing ballast water management systems to international and United States Coast Guard standards, is open to alumni and guests for guided tours by Cal Maritime cadets. Visit the ship’s bridge, nav-lab, power lab, engine room, ballast waste water system, and experience first-hand what it's like to be in a real, onboard, floating, learning environment. Date: Tuesday,, July 2, 2013 Place: Port of Seattle, Pier 66 (Bell Street Cruise Terminal) 2225 Alaskan Way, Seattle, WA Cost: $25 per person (ages 12+) and $15 for children (ages 5-11)
