US History
Choices Include:
AAS 200: History of Asian Americans
HIST 120: History of U.S. Since Reconstruction
Hist 121: History of the U.S. since Reconstruction

How about Advanced Placement U.S. History?
A score of 3, 4 or 5 will mean you don't need to take a U.S. History course at SFSU. You already get college credit for it! Make sure that SFSU gets your College Board transcript. Contact collegeboard.com and request the scores be sent to Admissions.
US Government
Advisor's note: The courses above meet U.S. Government and are lower division options. There are other options, but we do not recommend them to freshmen in the first semester, since the courses are upper division. You may take them at a later time.

But you do need to take 1 course to meet California State and Local Government. So you could choose one of the classes above to do this.
