Beginning November 1, 2011: The cost for each official transcript copy is $8.00. At this time we do not accept credit card information for payment and only US currency is accepted for cash, check or money order payments. For further information please call (415) 338-2350.
ORDERING UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS ONLINE:
Current and former students may view and print their unofficial transcripts online at no charge by accessing their MySFSU account. You will need to know your SF State ID Number and Password in order to use this service.
If you do not have an SF State password you can request one using the SF State password service. A part of setting your SF State password is to select six security questions and answers that will be used if you need to reset your SF State password and cannot remember it.
If you are unable to use the online SF State password service you can request a password reset by fax. To request a password reset, fax the following items to the Registrar’s Office at (415) 338-0588:
- government issued photo ID (Driver’s License)
- SF State ID#
- e-mail address
- signature
Faxed password reset requests can take up to two business days to process.
NOTE: If you attended prior to 1986 these services may not be available to you. Call the Registrar's Office directly (415) 338-2350 for more information.

To request official transcripts, please send a SIGNED letter or completed transcript request form to:

Attention: Transcripts
Please include the following information:
- Your full name and any other name you may have used while attending.
- Your SFSU ID number.
- Your date of birth.
- Approximate first and last semesters of attendance and whether or not you attended through Extended Learning.
- The address(es) to which you want us to send the transcript(s).
- Be sure to sign and date the letter/request form.
NOTE: You cannot order transcripts through e-mail or via fax.

ORDERING OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS IN PERSON:
To order Official Transcripts in person:
- Complete a Transcript Request Form. These forms are available at the Registrar's Office or online.
- Pay the appropriate fee at the Bursar's Office.
- Bring the form and picture ID to the Registrar's Counter at the One Stop Student Services Center (SS 101). Please note that only 2 official transcripts may be printed out at the One Stop counter. Additional copies beyond 2 will be mailed to the student.
Cash is not accepted at One Stop after 4:30 pm. Students who wish to order an official transcript in person after 4:30 pm must bring a check for payment.
NOTE: Students who attended prior to 1986 may not be able to pick up official transcripts the same day. Please contact the Registrar's Office at (415) 338-2350 for more information.
