26-29 -- "First Annual John Handy Jazz Festival"
T.S. Monk, Bobby Hutcherson, and John Handy are among the featured performers for the first annual John Handy Jazz Festival. Besides concerts (see below), festival includes workshops, lectures, film screenings, and additional performances.
Admission to each performance is $10 general ($25 for all three events); $5 students and seniors ($12 for all three); and $25 for "Golden Horn" admission ($60 for all three). Golden Horn includes parking and a reception with John Handy and others. Reception is to be held following Saturday's concert (see below) in Broadcasting's Studio One in Creative Arts.
