Software Plug-ins Many graphical browsers are designed to accept software plug-ins. A plug-in is a software program that merges into its host, providing additional features as if it were a natural part of the host program.

Most Plug-ins add a multimedia dimension to the web. Some are worth the download time for what you can expect from them. Others . . . .

Current Plug-in Lists Netscape provides an updated list of the latest inline plug-ins and downloading information. Another good place to look is BrowserWatch's Plug-In Plaza, which tracks the status of Mac and Windows plug-in developments.
