Student Voices - Add Your Voice

Public higher education in California continues to face unprecedented cuts. The Board of Trustees of the California State University is seeking to reverse the trend. At their November meeting, the Trustees adopted a budget for fiscal year 2012-13 that will ask the state to restore $333 million to the CSU. The Board also approved a tuition fee increase for fall 2012 of $498 per year for undergraduate students to offset the diminishing state support for the CSU. However, if state lawmakers fund the CSU’s requested budget restoring the $333 million, then the 9 percent tuition increase may be rescinded.

SF State is working hard to generate support for higher education. The University has contacted alumni and parents and urged them to join the effort. But the most influential voices are those of our students. Please, speak out and join SF State in this effort.

In an effort to raise our collective voice, please fill out the form below to express your support for public higher education and to share your story. President Corrigan will compile the submissions, add his own, and share them with the governor and legislature. Your experiences will convey the real consequences of budget cuts, increased tuition fees and the impacts they have on your life and education.
