Getting to Library Annex I

 

Library Annex I is located on North State Drive, near the corner of Winston Drive and Lake Merced Boulevard. It is northwest of the main parking garage (Lots 19 &20). Click here to view a complete campus map.

 

Aside from reaching the Annex by foot, several other options are available:

Campus Shuttle

The San Francisco State Department of Parking & Transportation (DPT) provides free shuttle service to and from the Daly City BART station during the fall and spring semesters. Beginning April 5, 2010, there will be scheduled pick up times for each shuttle stop below.  Yet, at any time passengers can request a non-scheduled drop off or pick up for any of the stops by either asking the driver or contacting DPT at 338-1441. One shuttle makes a loop of the campus including a stop near the Library Annexes before proceeding to the BART station. Scheduled stops in the Campus Loop include (in order):

  1. Daly City BART (7:20 am, 8:20 am, 9:20 am; 4:20 pm; 5:20 pm)
  2. Creative Arts (7:27 am, 8:27 am, 9:27 am; 4:27 pm; 5:27 pm)
  3. Font Boulevard (at Mary Ward Hall) (7:29 am, 8:29 am, 9:29 am; 4:29 pm; 5:29 pm)
  4. Winston Boulevard at Lake Merced Boulevard (7:31 am, 8:31 am, 9:31 am; 4:31 pm; 5:31 pm)
    * 5:10 pm:  Pick up in front of Library Annex
  5. University Park North (Buckingham Way at Winston Drive) (7:32 am, 8:32 am, 9:32 am; 4:32 pm; 5:32 pm)

Public Transportation

Various bus lines serve SF State's northwest corner and will provide convenient access to the Annex.

 

Muni

Route 17

 

The "17-Parkmerced" provides service from the West Portal Muni Metro station via West Portal Avenue, Junipero Serra, Eucalyptus, 20th Avenue, across Winston, Buckingham, Winston, 19th Avenue and through Parkmerced. On weekdays, it runs approximately every twenty (20) to thirty (30)minutes. The nearest stop to the Annex is at the corner of Buckingham Way and Winston Drive. Click here for a route map.

The "18-46th Avenue" provides service along Buckingham Way, 20th Avenue, Winston, Lake Merced Boulevard, John Muir, Skyline, Sloat, 46th Avenue, Lincoln Way, Great Highway, Fulton, La Playa, Balboa, Great Highway, Point Lobos, Geary, 33rd Avenue, Clement, Legion of Honor Drive to Palace of the Legion of Honor.On weekdays, it runs approximately every fifteen (15) to twenty (20)minutes. Muni

Route 29

 

The "29-Sunset" provides service in many San Francisco neighborhoods and districts, including Golden Gate Park, City College of San Francisco (Ocean campus), the Mission, Bernal Heights, Excelsior, Ingleside, the Richmond, Laurel Heights, the Presidio, Bayview, Hunters Point, Portola, Vis Valley), Lake Merced, Sunset, Parkside, Forest Hill adn the Balboa Park Muni Metro/BART Station. Samtrans Route 122

 

Route 122 provides service from South San Francisco BART, Serramonte, Serra Center, Colma BART, Seton Medical Center, Westlake, to SF State and Stonestown. The nearest stop to the Annex is at the corner of Lake Merced Boulevard and Winston Drive. Click here for a route map.

 

Car

If arriving at SF State by automobile, several parking lots provide convenient access to the Annex. The annex is just northwest of Lots 19 and 20-- the campus parking garage. Additionally, Lot 25, just north of Winston Drive and east of Lake Merced Boulevard, is near the Annex. For more information, visit the Department of Parking & Transporation.

 

Bicycle

C.A.R.E. Program Escorts

C.A.R.E., the Campus Alliance for a Risk-free Environment, is a student security team employed, trained, and supervised by the University Police Department. Team members will be available to escort you to and from the Annex. While most escorts are provided by walking, an electric cart escort is available under special circumstances.
