Meet a diverse range of people from all 50 U.S. states and more than 90 countries at SF State.


The University enrolls 2,016 international students representing 94 countries; 499 are graduate students. Asian countries account for 74 percent of the University's matriculated international student body, topped by Japan with 425 students, followed by Taiwan (169 students), South Korea (134) and China (117).


Centers of activity on campus include:

Cesar Chavez Student Center
A focal point of student activity, the Student Center is rich with restaurants, meeting rooms, conference halls, ATMs, transit passes, art exhibits, live bands and community-based events, all of which are run by students.

 

International Education Exchange Council (IEEC)
IEEC helps connect foreign students with SF State students through weekly social events, “pint nights,” and international film viewings and more.

 

Student Clubs/Organizations
With more than 200 student clubs and organizations, SF State is the meeting place for diverse ideas, people and culture.

 

SF State Residential Life
On-campus residents are provided with themed living communities, orientation and academic programs, and social events.
