Windows Mobile on Exchange

Guide for configuring ActiveSync on Windows Mobile 6 devices to access SF State E-mail and Calendar on Microsoft Exchange.

Configure ActiveSync on Windows Mobile

  1. On the home screen, select Start.

    2. Start

  2. On the menu screen, select Messaging.

    3. Message

  3. From menu, select New E-mail Account...

    4. New Acct

  4. E-mail set-up:

    1. Enter your full e-mail address (e.g., jdoe@sfsu.edu).
    2. Uncheck Try to get e-mail settings automatically from the Internet.
    3. Select Next.

  5. Select Exchange Server in Your e-mail provider option box, then select Next.

    6. Exchange

  6. If prompted to confirm the selection to use Outlook with Exchange, select Next.

    7. Confirm

  7. Set-up Exchange server:

    1. Enter email.sfsu.edu in the Server Address box.
    2. Select The server requires an encrypted (SSL) connection box.
    3. Select next.

  8. Verify the following items are selected: Contacts, Calendar, E-mail and Tasks. Select finish.

    9. Data

  9. Synchronization to your server may take a moment. Once synchronization is complete, your Inbox is displayed.
