The Society for Classical and Comparative Studies
Travel Scholarship
2006 COMPETITION

To fund travel for students in Classics and Comparative & World Literature

TWO SCHOLARSHIPS OF $750 EACH

To be awarded to Classics or Comparative Literature majors or graduate students in good standing who will be continuing at SFSU or who will be participating in a university-approved overseas program and who will be attending such program before the award of their final degree at SFSU.

Application and accompanying papers must be submitted to

HUM 484 by April 7, 2006

Obtain an application and guidelines from HUM 377 or HUM 484.

The recipients will be selected by April 12, 2006. The Scholarships will be awarded by May 15 or September 15, 2006, depending on the date of the travel study program.

Scholarships/Awards/Prizes are coordinated with financial aid awards.

 

 

THE SARA RUTH PRIZE
in Comparative and World Literature
To Support and Reward Excellence in Undergraduate Writing and Composition

$125 prize for undergraduates enrolled in Comparative and World Literature

Application forms are available in the office of the Dean of the College of Humanities (HUM 484) and the Comparative and World Literature Department (HUM 377)

Eligibility Criteria:

1. Undergraduate student enrolled for the 2005-2006 Academic Year in Comparative and World Literature courses, continuing in Fall 2006

2. Paper or composition (in English) must be written as part of any regular undergraduate course (including special studies courses) in the department in either the fall or Spring semester.

Application Procedure:

Application and accompanying paper must be submittee to the Dean's office

by April 14, 2006

The prize will be awarded to the recipient early in the Fall 2006 semester.

Scholarships/Awards/Prizes are coordinated with financial aid awards.
