Joint Doctoral Program - Application Process
Deadline:
Monday, December 1, 2008, for Fall 2009 admission
(applications accepted for Fall semester only)
The Joint Doctoral Program in Education, with a Concentration in Special
Education, was initiated in 1961. The State Legislature supported the
cooperative effort of the University of California Board of Regents and
the California State University Trustees to integrate the resources of
two major universities in the San Francisco Bay Area, and to award a Ph.D.
degree.
The Joint Doctoral Program provides advanced academic training and research
experiences for professionals working with children, youth, and adults
with special educational needs. The program offers an opportunity for
students to combine theoretical interests with applied practices in a
broad spectrum of specializations within, and related to, the field of
Special Education. Applicants who seek leadership and research training
in special education and related disciplines are encouraged to apply.
