Scholarships For COSE Students

The College of Science & Engineering is offering two scholarships for the fall of 1998.  The College Advancement office is working hard to establish more scholarship funds for CSE students.

The COSE Advisory Board Scholarship in the amount of about $2,500 will be awarded to a Masters student. The donors of this $50,000 endowed scholarship are Behring Diagnostic $1,500; Clontech $3,000; Genentech $5,000; Hewlett Packard $10,500; Homestake Mining $5,000; Microsoft $10,000; Quantum $5,000; Raychem $5,000; Roche Molecular $5,000.

The David Cassa Memorial Scholarship is also an endowed scholarship with a principle of $10,000 donated by Mrs. Cary B. Cassa. This scholarship in the amount of approximately $500 will be given to an undergraduate student.

Dr. and Mrs. Kenneth Fong, the owners of Clontech Laboratories, established an endowed scholarship fund of $10,000 for two undergraduate students, one in Biology and one in Mathematics. The first awards of about $250 each will be in the fall of 1999.

The COSE Alumni Scholarship is being developed and needs your support. This scholarship is intended to support an undergraduate student.
