San Francisco State Archaeological Field School in Pompeii
A major component of the Project is an archaeological field school designed to provide beginning to advanced students of archeology with experience in cutting edge research techniques. The initial years of our research have examined our target areas using non-invasive methods as is described in detail in the research section, but as early as 2009 we hope to begin to incorporate targeted excavation into our research and field school experience.
The field school is open to anyone who demonstrates interest, enthusiasm and aptitude for archaeological research and students learn through participation as members of the Project and contribute actively to its goals. The field season generally runs between roughly the 28th of June and the 10th of August. At this stage the field school is still under development and is not yet open for general applications. Please check back soon for more information. |
