MUSIC SCHOLARSHIPS & AWARDS

Each year, the SFSU Department of Music awards financial scholarships and awards totaling more than $100,000. There are a variety of scholarships offered for performers, composers, educators, and researchers. All scholarships are competitive, and are based upon performances at special auditions that are scheduled once in the Fall semester for students applying for the Spring, and three times in the Spring semester for students applying for the Fall. (see audition dates and audition requirements)

Note! All students accepted for music major study are given private
lessons at no additional cost.
