Education and Outreach

In conjunction with our April and November exhibitions, we offer schools outreach via the M S 710 course, Museum Education and Schools Outreach.

Students in M S 710 develop classroom curricula for elementary and middle school teachers; write children's and family guides; and create hands-on activities for children.

Students also have public roles: as docents in our free field trip program that serves over 1,000 children annually from local schools grades 3-8 who visit our Museum; and as 'teachers' to their school counterparts who enroll in our workshops for in-depth instruction and hands-on activity related to the current exhibition's topic.

Our field trips are FREE and are offered in 60-minute time slots daily during the months of April and November annually. Scroll down for current news about our programs.

Forthcoming Exhibitions: AY 2007-08 and Fall 2008

Save-the-date for upcoming exhibitions in the our Museum:

November 2007: The Roman Soldier (Roman armor and antiquities)
April 2008: The Xing Dynasty (Chinese ancestor paintings and pottery)
November 2008: Selections from the Sutro Egyptian Collection

Admission is free. Advance registration for free field trips (grades 3-8) and group tours open every September and February for the current exhibition until all slots are filled.
