[Undergraduate Program At-a-Glance]

  • Bachelor of Science in Health Education
    This is a 120-unit degree, with a 51-unit major for students interested in working as a catalyst to empower communities or individuals to promote health and prevent disease. Learn more about the curriculum or check out the prospective students page to find out if this major is right for you.

  • NEW! The Metropolitan Health Academy (MHA) A new program for the first two years of college! Complete your general education requirements within a small cohort of students who are interested in community health and social justice. Get extra support and advising to succeed and have a jump start on the Community Health Education.   • General Education Courses: Segment II & Segment III
    Fulfill your general education requirements with Holistic Health and Health Education courses.  These courses are open to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge and skills in the area of personal health, self-care, and social and community health.

  • Health Education Minors
    We offer minors in Health Education, Holistic Health and Women’s Health.

  • Holistic Health
    Instruction, innovative research and extracurricular programs in Holistic Health and Complementary and Alternative Medicine Practices (CAM) are offered all University students and the larger community. (Non-degree students apply through College of Extended Learning.) Interested students may work towards a minor and certificate in holistic health.

  • School Health
    The Department of Health Education offers teaching credential students online courses to fulfill credential requirements. In addition, Health Education Major students can choose School Health as their major emphasis.
