  • VirusScan for Mac 8.6 is now available for the Mac OS X Leopard operating system. It also supports Macintoshes with an Intel microprocessor as well as those with the PowerPC microprocessor that run the Mac OS X 10.4.6 or later Tiger operating system.
  • VirusScan 8.5i Enterprise is now available for Windows Vista/XP/2000. Support for VirusScan 7.0 ended June 30th, 2005. Everyone using 7.0 must upgrade in order to be protected against viruses. People using VirusScan 7.1 may continue to do so but are recommended to upgrade to take advantage of new features in VirusScan 8.5i.
  • Support for VirusScan 4.5.1 ended June 30th, 2005. There will not be an upgrade compatible with Windows ME/98/95. You are responsible for obtaining an alternate anti-virus product in order to be protected against viruses.
  • Virex 7.7 now has a scheduler to automatically update virus definitions. Virex 7.7 does support Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.
  • Use Care When Reading Email Attachments - Practical Advice from CERT
  • If you receive an email message warning you about viruses and urging you to forward the warning to everyone you know, please DON'T! We have never seen a legitimate warning that includes a request to forward the mail to other people. Check NAI's or Trend Micro's hoax listings.
  • Sulfnbk.exe email warning is a hoax - do not delete this file - it is a regular Microsoft Windows file!
  • NAI provides a special stand-alone utility to detect and remove specific viruses. It is available at: http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/
