Learn and Serve America Higher Education,
administered by CACC
History & Goals
CACC's Partners in Progress Program is a three-year project to address the needs of California communities by engaging postsecondary institutions. With support from the Corporation for National and Community Service, CACC provides means and resources to postsecondary institutions to implement their civic engagement and service-learning programs through four different themes:
- Research — Developing the capacity of California Research institutions to meet the needs of their local community.
- Federal Work Study — Connecting Federal Work Study to campus community service programs to increase and enhance student participation in community work.
- Student Leadership — Developing the leadership skills of California's higher education students and consequently, increasing civic engagement of those students.
- Civic Mission of Education — Funding programs tailored to meet California's unique needs around fulfilling the civic mission of education (through teacher preparation, civic engagement, and service learning).
