The SIS Program fosters civic engagement among higher education students, promote national service movement, and encourage relationships between campuses and communities. Students also receive an education voucher (up to $2362 for 900 hours of service). |

This program helps member institutions implement civic engagement and service-learning programs by (1) Developing the capacity of California Research institutions to meet the needs of their local community, (2) Connecting Federal Work Study to campus community service program, and (3) Developing the leadership skills of California's higher education students. |
