Preventive Maintenance & Tips

Back up your computer regularly on external media - ideally a USB flash drive or hard drive. Contact the Help Desk for recommendations on backup solutions. This will save time and money in the event your computer crashes. The cost to recover data (if possible) off-site is around $2000.

Turn off your computer immediately if you suspect a problem (i.e. viruses, noises from hard drive) to prevent further damage. Contact the Help Desk.
