AV has designed, installed and maintains multipurpose teleconference facilities in:
Each room is equipped with the latest in audio and video technology to enable faculty to experiment with new teaching strategies and to participate with their classes in satellite-delivered conferences and seminars. In addition, any video equipped classroom on campus can receive satellite-delivered material.
Through CNIC, the high speed network operated by the CSU Chancellor's Office, we can connect to other CSU, UC and Community College campuses for live, two-way videoconferences. Multipoint control units allow many sites to participate in a conference or class with all sites able to be seen and heard. We also have the ability to connect with sites around the world for interviews, conferences and classes.
Our connection to the CSU satellite uplink at the Chico campus is used to distribute distance education courses nationwide.
Staff is available to help prepare instructors for teaching using video distance learning, to assist writing grant proposals for distance education and to offer guidance in choosing the appropriate technology for your educational objective.
