In this two-part study Jackson Katz looks at masculine images in popular culture and their relationship to real-world violence in the United States. The first section of this video investigates understanding violent masculinity, while the second section looks at violent masculinity in action, including the school shootings in Littleton and Jonesboro, constructing violent masculinity, sexualized violence and invulnerability. The importance of building better male roles in society is also noted. Director Sut Jhally. Study guide available. See also DVD, AT # 67831.
