Friday TOEFL Preparation Courses

About the Course

When: Friday, September 26 - Friday, November 21, 2008

Tuition: $345.00

  • Tuition includes instruction and one institutional TOEFL test
  • Deadline to pay tuition is Tuesday, September 23, by 4:00pm
  • The ALI will accept cashier’s checks, money orders, or personal checks with printed name made payable to: SF State-CEL/ALI

Hours: 18 hours of expert TOEFL instruction

  • Class meets for 3 hours Friday mornings from 9:00am to 12:00pm

Location: All classes meet on San Francisco State University campus

Teachers: Our teachers are highly experienced and have Master degrees in Teaching English as a Second Language.

Special Bonus: Take the Institutional TOEFL

You can use this TOEFL score to apply to SF State and some Bay Area Community Colleges.

Note: A student can use an American Language Institute (ALI) TOEFL score for his/her San Francisco State University (SF State) application only when s/he is currently enrolled as an ALI student in our regular academic program. TOEFL scores received during the Friday TOEFL Strategies course may only be used for applications to SF State made during ALI's current session for SF State's next semester. The student must also successfully complete ALI level 46 or higher with a "B" average or better. In addition, the student must fulfill ALI's requirements to apply to SF State.

Who Should Take this Course?

This intensive course is designed for students who need to significantly raise their TOEFL score and is open to all ALI students, levels 42-48 and Gateway.

What Will Students Learn?

Successful test-taking STRATEGIES and TECHNIQUES for the paper-based and Internet-based TOEFL.
