Reasons for participating Orientation
SFSU New Transfer Student Orientation is a must for your success. We want to welcome you, share our University, and give you an opportunity to learn the information needed to get you off to a good academic start. Transfers who pre-register for orientation, pay orientation fees and university fees 2 weeks prior to Orientation will receive an official evaluation of their transfer courses. In addition, transfers who attend will be allowed to register for a partial Fall 2008 schedule! Transfers who attend orientation will register before students who do not attend.
Therefore, we urge you to make every effort to attend this important event at San Francisco State. Transfer students who participate in an Orientation Program are better prepared, encounter fewer problems, and generally have a very positive feeling about their experiences at San Francisco State. Plan to join us!
Advising and Class Registration help at Orientation
You will get advising for Fall 2008. Orientation includes a in-depth workshop on graduation requirements for all students. Counselors will assist you with major course selection as well.
The two ways new students can best prepare for Orientation/ Class Registration are:
- Bring unofficial transcripts of all previous college work.
- Make sure all your OFFICIAL transcripts are on file at least 2 weeks in advance so that you may receive an early transfer evaluation of your coursework. Check www.sfsu.edu/admit for admissions and transcript status.
