Graduate Programs
The Department of Accounting offers two master degrees:
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
The MBA is a highly structured [five 800-level courses
are predetermined] and broadly based degree designed
to prepare individuals to assume managerial positions
in the accounting profession and business organizations.
Limited specialization and elective courses
[four 800-level courses] should be selected upon
advisement from the College of Business listings.
Master of Science in Business Administration (MSBA)
The MSBA program is designed to prepare graduates for
accounting careers in public accounting, industry and
government. MSBA candidates must complete at least
five accounting courses. A maximum of two of these
courses may be upper-division undergraduate courses
with the approval of a graduate advisor
Both programs provide courses that can be used to meet the 150-hour education requirement of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA)
