Programs for Mature Learners

Eldercollege | Over Sixty Degree Program | Sixty Plus | Osher LLI

Remember how you've always wanted to learn a little Spanish, study ancient Egypt, or delve into Renaissance art? Maybe you've dreamed of earning a college degree, but never had the chance.

If you're age 50 or older, San Francisco State University makes it easy and affordable for you to return to the classroom. You can audit classes or, if you're at least age 60, you can earn a bachelor's or master's degree at significantly reduced tuition rates.

Whether you're a serious scholar or just want to expand your mind, one of our three programs for mature learners should suit your needs.

Eldercollege
Eldercollege is for people age 50 or older who want to enroll in SFSU classes for fun or personal enrichment. Eldercollege students may enroll in any fall, spring or summer semester class on a space available, noncredit basis for just $55 a semester.

Eldercollege participants have access to the J. Paul Leonard Library, the Cesar Chavez Student Center, and most other campus facilities.

*Please note that courses offered through the College of Extended Learning are not part of this program.

Call 415-405-7700 if you would like information about Eldercollege mailed to you. Take a minute to browse course offerings and check out the academic calendar for the upcoming semester.
