Eldercollege | Over Sixty Degree
Program | Sixty Plus | Osher LLI Remember how you've always wanted to learn a little Spanish, study ancient Egypt, or delve into Renaissance art? Maybe you've dreamed of earning a college degree, but never had the chance. If you're age 50 or older, San Francisco State University makes it easy and affordable for you to return to the classroom. You can audit classes or, if you're at least age 60, you can earn a bachelor's or master's degree at significantly reduced tuition rates. Whether you're a serious scholar or just want to expand your mind, one of our three programs for mature learners should suit your needs.
Eldercollege Eldercollege participants have access to the J. Paul Leonard Library, the Cesar Chavez Student Center, and most other campus facilities. *Please note that courses offered through the College of Extended Learning are not part of this program. Over 60 Degree Program To be admitted, you must meet the standard requirements for admission to SFSU and complete the formal admissions process. You must be a high school graduate and have been a California resident for at least one year prior to application. Participants may study part or full time, in undergraduate or graduate courses, on a space-available basis. Openings are limited and qualified applicants will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Those interested in enrolling in the Over 60 Degree Program as an undergraduate should call 415/338-2143 for questions and to obtain an application. For information on graduate-level study in the Over 60 Degree Program, call Graduate Studies at 415/338-2234. Sixty Plus Because of heavy demand for membership, Sixty Plus has two chapters: The Gamma Chapter meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month; the Beta Chapter meets on the second and fourth Mondays. The program includes:
